About Heartell Press: We are a women-owned and operated small business based in Indiana. Our story started when printmaker and illustrator Rachel Kroh was inspired to hand-carve woodblocks and print them to make cards after she had trouble finding the kind of warm, sincere designs she wanted to send to her mom who was diagnosed with cancer in 2012.

About the Artist: Annie Hrehov
Annie Hrehov is a University of Saint Francis student majoring in studio art. She mainly works in 2D media, such as printmaking and paper collage. There are repeated themes of finding beauty in the mundane, as she is drawn to subjects of places and people of familiarity. Annie also explores her identity as an autistic adult in her art as a recurring theme.
About the Artist: Amanda McNamara
"I was born creative. When I am in a manic episode, that part of me amplifies. I find the beauty in creating art. I find beauty in being able to see colors more vividly. I find joy and being able to feel things on a more passionate level. Battling with Bipolar feels like a constant battle and adventure. There is still so much beauty in Bipolar. It is not who you are, it is a part of you. Like all things in life you have to find joy. Painting and art has always been a part of my life. I love art history. I love knowing and seeing how each artist has their own unique style and thought processes. I love being able to create art that has a piece of them with me through collage. They have influenced me to create my own unique style, as I have always loved collage. Creating pieces that share their story and mine. Life didn’t give the past artists Lemons, it gave them Oranges. I feel that to my core, life also gave me Oranges.I have traveled many roads. I have been redirected many times. Art, music and passion have always stayed with me through the journey. They never once tried to leave. The black and white vibe of school put pressure on me to be perfect. It took me 5 years to tell myself that art is never perfect. Art is its own entity and beauty. I can not fail at painting. It’s my mood, emotion, passion and love that goes into each piece. For that- there can be no wrong."
About the Arist: Kathy Watson
"I became a dancer. At a time when I was young and finding my way, I saw a dance concert that sent my spirit soaring. So, with a light heart and shaking hands, I signed up for the class that would lead to the Spring Concert. I found a few natural gifts but mostly I found what it was to create in a community of people working toward a purpose. Together we made beautiful lines and forms that we gave to an audience. The joy I found there I now see in colored glass and formed wire and other tools of the trade. I used to do art fairs and put my work in galleries around the Midwest but I wanted that sense of the community working together to make beautiful pieces that would be shared. In owning a gallery, I can display my artwork along with other artists and develop a space that is a sanctuary, a place set apart, where people can see our artwork and buy beautiful things to adorn their homes and themselves and give as gifts in the truest sense of the word to those they care about and want to offer something made by skilled hands with a passion for their work."
